Methodology
The GEOINT process typically involves several key steps:
Collection: Gathering raw geospatial data from multiple sources, such as satellite imagery, aerial photography, radar, and GPS data. This data can also come from open sources like social media, enabling insights into human activity in specific areas.
Processing: Converting raw data into a usable format. This may involve rectifying images, filtering noise, or merging data from different sensors to create coherent datasets.
Analysis: Using various analytical techniques to interpret spatial data. Analysts might use GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools, remote sensing software, or specialized algorithms to identify patterns, anomalies, or changes over time. Analysis may include:
